Among the schools that attended
the session were, CHIJ Katong Convent, CHIJ St Nicholas Girl’s
School, St Margaret’s Secondary, St Anthony’s Convent,
Pierce Secondary and Anderson Secondary School. These are schools
which are currently offering IGCSE Drama. Also invited were other
schools, Ang Mo Kio Secondary and Fajar Secondary, who are considering
the possibility of offering drama as a subject in the coming year.
The session saw representatives
from the various schools sharing on topics which were pertinent
to IGCSE Drama and the Drama Curriculum in schools.
Raphael Meyer, a drama teacher
from CHIJ Katong Convent, shared on the expectation on students
and teachers when handling Paper One of the IGCSE Examination
(Written), while Mr Adrian Wong, from CHIJ St Nicholas Girl’s
School shared on the topic of assessment processes in Drama Education.
Drama teachers from CHIJ (Toa
Payoh), Mr Richard Armstrong and Ms Miranda Ng, shared on the
CHIJ approach to drama at lower secondary. Mrs Regina Lee was
also present to shed some light on the school’s stand on
drama education and how drama was included as part of the curriculum
in CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh). Other schools like Anderson Secondary
and St Anthony’s Convent also shared on their approach to
lower and upper secondary drama.
